Where an officer of the Marine Department is required to attend, in his capacity as a Government official, any legal proceedings or inquiry in relation to any matter arising under the Ordinance, there shall be payable in respect thereof-

(a) where the attendance is in Hong Kong during office hours, a fee of $1115 for each hour or part hour of attendance; and
(b) where the attendance is outside Hong Kong-
(i) a fee of $7645 for each period or part period of 24 hours during which the officer is absent from Hong Kong on account of the attendance; and
(ii) the travelling and subsistence expenses of the officer in such reasonable sums as the Authority shall determine.
