(1) At the beginning of the first work shift on everyday on which work is carried on in any quarry, the supervisor on duty shall inspect all mechanical equipment used in the quarry or which is in the quarry for the purpose of being used, to determine whether it is in safe and efficient working order and shall inspect every anchorage which is in the quarry for the purpose of being used to determine whether it is safe to be used. (2) At the beginning of the first work shift on the first working day of every week in which work is carried on in any quarry, the supervisor on duty shall inspect-

(a) every safety rope and every safety harness used in the quarry or which is in the quarry for the purpose of being used, to determine whether they are in safe and efficient working order; and (L.N. 208 of 1973)
(b) every safety helmet used in the quarry or which is in the quarry for the purpose of being used, to determine whether it is in safe condition.
