Copyright in legislation
- The Government is entitled to copyright in Hong Kong legislation in accordance with
the Copyright Ordinance (Cap. 528).
Permission to reproduce
- Anyone may ¡V
- download, print, make copies of and distribute Hong Kong legislation for non-commercial
purposes; and
- include Hong Kong legislation in a text book or other educational materials, whether
in electronic or paper form.

The Government may withdraw the above permission at any time.
- Except as allowed under paragraph 1, special permission from the Government is required to sell, or sell access
to, Hong Kong legislation. Request for permission may be sent to the Law Drafting
Division, Department of Justice through the means in the Contact Us document.
- Care should be taken to ensure that copies made of any Hong Kong legislation are
accurate. A publication reproducing any Hong Kong legislation must include a statement
to the effect that copyright in the legislation belongs to the Government and the legislation was reproduced with the permission of the Government.
Hyperlinking
- Anyone may link to the homepage of the BLIS site, but may not charge for facilitating
that specific access, even though charges may be imposed for accessing the site
on which the link is contained.
- The Department of Justice does not object to the linked BLIS pages appearing within
frames of other sites. However, care should be taken to ensure that when using frames
the origin of the BLIS data is not misrepresented. It should also be made clear
that the data is available directly from the BLIS site and access to the data is
free. Any script through which the BLIS data is filtered must not modify the BLIS
pages and logos and the text must remain intact.
- There are practical and technical difficulties in making links to specific enactments
within BLIS. Anyone who wants to establish such links should contact the Department
of Justice through the means in the Contact Us document.
